Germany bound

When head coach Babb made the declaration that this was going to be the year we were going to have at least two athletes going to the World Championships in Germany,I never once doubted him.Obviously he would've known why he was making such a statement based on the performances our overseas based athletes were giving.

It is public knowledge that Ryan.M. Brathwaite had already qualified with his consistently remarkable times in the 110m hurdles which have given him a top 6 world ranking. At the recent Texas Invitational in Austin,Texas ( 02-05-09) Ryan ran an impressive 13.05 secs with an illegal wind reading displacing a high quality field. He had run 13.35 secs at the Texas Relays a few days earlier.

Less than a week earlier ( 30-04-09),St Augustine student Ramon Gittens also qualified for the World Championships with a win in the 200m in Lynchburg,VA. Ramon's time was 20.56 secs which has also given him a global ranking of 16th in the world, one position behind Jeremy Wariner. WOW!!

With only hurdle princess and Central Arizona student Kierre Beckles to qualify,Babb's prediction of global representation for the Rising Stars T&FC may very well be coming true.
